Ranked Leagues feature the following seven competitive tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Apex Predator.

To achieve a certain Rank you'll need to surpass Ranked Point markers as listed below:

• Bronze: 0 RP (base rank)
• Silver: 1200 RP
• Gold: 2800 RP
• Platinum: 4800RP
• Diamond: 7200 RP
• Master: 10000 RP
• Apex Predator: Top 750 RPs on each platform

Each of these ranks - with the exception of Master and Apex Predator - will feature four tiered divisions such as: Gold IV, Gold III, Gold II, and Gold I.

All players new to Ranked will begin in Bronze IV; however, experienced players will be given a starting placement one and a half tiers below their final Rank in the previous Split or Series.

To take part in Ranked Leagues, players climbing the ladder will use a set scoring system that tracks scores via Ranked Points (RP). Ranked players are charged a specific RP cost at the beginning of each match depending on their Rank — this cost increases alongside your Rank.

Listed below is the RP cost to play a match of Ranked Leagues:

• Bronze Matches are Free.
• Silver Matches cost 12RP.
• Gold Matches cost 24RP.
• Platinum Matches cost 36RP.
• Diamond Matches cost 48RP.
• Master Matches cost 60RP
• Apex Predator matches cost 60RP.

Very simply, in order to earn Ranked Points and climb you'll need to score more points than your RP match cost described earlier. Ranked Points are earned through Kills/Assists, and Placements — the maximum RP you can earn per match is 275RP.

RP earned through Kills/Assists now takes into account the difference between a killer's and victim's current Rank. For example, if you're a Gold player and kill another Gold you'll earn 10RP for that kill. If you kill a Silver player you'll earn 8 RP, and if you kill a Diamond player you'll earn 12RP.

Apex Predators and Masters are treated as the same Rank in these calculations.

Placement Ranked Points are now added as both a Base Placement RP and a "Per Kill Bonus" based on your squad's final placement; the higher your squad's final placement the higher the Base Placement RP and Per Kill Bonus.

Base Placement RP starts at 5RP and reaches a maximum of 100RP if your squad ends up as Apex Champions. These are all of the Base RP values you can expect to earn based on your Final Placement:

Depending on your final placement you'll also earn a flat per kill bonus as follows:

As you make your way up the Ranked ladder you cannot be demoted from your current Rank despite continued losses, unless you're an Apex Predator where your Rank can change in real-time depending on your own RP and the RP of other high-RP players.

For example, should a player reach the Platinum I tier and happen to encounter a series of losses, they cannot be demoted below the Platinum IV tier. While players cannot lose their Tier, running several losses will cause players to lose their division - such as going from Division I to Division II and so on.

The exception to this rule is Series Splits.

The Apex Ranked Series is divided into two splits that cause a soft Rank reset and change the Series' map. For example, Ranked Season 11 is beginning on the map Storm Point but this will change to World's Edge after the mid-Series split.

Splits also cause a soft reset of your Rank that moves you back one and a half tiers. For instance, if your final Rank before the split is Diamond I you'll be reset to Platinum III.

If you're looking to play with friends, it's important to understand that several rules have been put in place to prevent potential cheating or the ability for higher ranks to carry their lower-ranked friends.

For this reason, not only do players need to be level 10 or higher, but the matches will be scaled towards the highest rank in your group. This means that if you are playing a match with a Gold I friend as a Bronze IV player you will, unfortunately, be matched with other players in the Platinum I division.

Lastly, if you find yourself unable to match up with friends it's likely because there is too big of a Rank disparity. To prevent boosting Respawn has made it so players above Platinum Rank will only be able to matchmake with teammates that are either on the same Rank, one level below, or one level above.

So as an example, if you're a Diamond player you can only matchmake with teammates who are Diamond, Platinum, or Master/Apex Predator.

Everyone loves a good reward and for this reason, players that take part in Ranked Leagues can earn various rewards based on their rank at the end of each Series.

Though Ranked Leagues started with only badges as rewards this has since been expanded to include cosmetics such as Dive Trails and Charms. These rewards are typically distributed at the end of each Series and not during mid-Series splits.

Loss Forgiveness, as the name indicates, is a mechanic that in certain cases, absolves any lost RP you may have experienced during a given Ranked match. Loss Forgiveness can kick in when you load into a Ranked game without a teammate or teammates, when a teammate abandons a match, or when you unexpectedly leave a match due to issues such as a server disconnect or your internet going out.

Respawn can detect when you willingly abandon a match which will result in a lack of Loss Forgiveness and you'll be prevented from matchmaking for a short period of time. However, if your match quit is found to be legitimate you won't incur the RP loss resulting from the match.
